So, I'm venturing out of the introductions section and figured I'd post some recent pics.....

This is an albino squirrel that has lived in the wooded area behind our house for several years. I didn't see him/her all summer so I was pretty darn excited when my husband noticed it in the trees today....He's not technically "mine" but I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who knows about him around here, as none of the neighbors have mentioned him. I like to keep it that way.

My rats, Schmoopsie

and Poopsie

And Schmoo and my son, Tyler.  Grin

Tyler pretending he's gonna eat Schmoo. (and Schmoo doesn't look skeered) Grin

Wow, I've never seen an albino squirrel before! How very unique!
And the rats are neat too. When I was young, we had a pair of rats, Whiskers and Rosie. They were just your plain, old white rats.
They make great pets.

Taht is very very cool!  I think generally any albinos get picked off by predators because they are so visable.  He is absolutely gorgeous!  Have you ever noticed any albino babies?

Love the rats, esp Poopsie.  Very neat colouring.  I've never been a rat fan, but on anotehr forum I'm on someone posted some pics of their rat (marked like Schmoopsie) and he looked like he had total personality.  Still dont' know if I could own one, but I have progressed to thinking they're pretty cute!   Grin

Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!  I'm scared to death of rats, you just put me into total creeped out mode....so sorry, stems from a childhood trauma but eeeeeekkkkk.....did Joe put you up to that?  He loves to torment me!!! Evil

On a much different note, I adore squirrles and have never know of there being albino squirrles.  How cool to be on your property.  I wonder if the sunlight hurts his eyes like ppl who are albino?  We're going to have to chip in and buy him some sunglasses LOL!!!

Other than this "guy" I've never seen an albino either. In fact, I was the only one who had seen him for MONTHS. Nobody in my family believed me. I'd get the "just agree with her so she doesn't know we think she's crazy" look from my mother, my husband, everyone. lol

I love my rats. They are great pets for kids, and are less bitey than gerbils and hamsters, with a lot more personality. I'm terribly allergic to them, and no matter how clean I keep them I can smell their odor to the point it makes me sick. But I'd not give them up for anything..... Embarrassed

I've never noticed any babies. I've only seen him interact with one "normal" squirrel, and that was in a less than friendly way, if I saw it correctly.....

My husband is totall grossed out by the rats. He will not touch their heads, simply because they have that tail. He can't see anything cute about them, and has a fit if I get near him with them.  Roll Eyes So I understand about not being a fan. Grin

Aw man, Carol, next time I post pics of the ratties I'll post a warning.

I wonder if they make extra small doggles to fit him? Ok, anyone wanting to paypal me some cash for a pair of squirrel sunglasses, let me know..... Tongue

I took some more pics today (NO RATS!!!!)

Heres Azrael showin' off her leggy stripes

Waldo tripping all over himself cuz he can't see where he's going with that toy in his mouth

Bird being Bird. (lazy fatcat!)

Peanut hiding in the shadows.....Her ears barely fit in the pic lol

Beaker is declaring his innocence, and says he wants his lawyer!!!!

Awwww, what nice pics. ....Waldo has me laughing; I could just picture him running into things...Now beaker, those kitties look like they could give you a run for your money-you'd better stay behind bars.  Grin  Lil' peanut is precious.  Is shy a shy chi or an outgoing one?  How much does she weigh.  My girlfriend has 2  three pounders that are hysterical.  They have such personality!  However, she has never been able to get them totally housebroken.  She has torn her hair out over that one.

Waldo is a doof 99% of the time. lol. He is always into everything, he is always breaking something no matter how much I try to cat-proof the house.....he's extreme.

Peanut is not shy. She prefers not to be approached by rambunctious children, but she won't cower or react. She's a really good dog, big for a chihuahua. She is a hunka chunka 9 pounds. I'd say ideally she should weigh around 7 lbs. She was surprisingly easy to housebreak. She came to us using newspaper, so instead of switching her to outside potty, we set her up with a litterbox. She shares her box with the 3 cats now.

Beaker was granted an appeal and was temporarily out on bail. (the court system in our house is a little screwy LOL)

He wants to show off his wings.....

And him playing fetch with his toy (fetch in reverse, that is.....he throws it, I get it and bring it back to him.....who's training who around here??)
  Huh?

I had nothing to do with the rat pictures. But I knew you'd be freaked when I saw them.

We have a good number of Black squirrels around my house. ( Black phase of a gray squirrel.) but no albinos.

Aw what an adorable gang!!  Love the kitties and lil Peanut pictures!

Never ever seen an albino squirrel!!  Seen photos of an albino deer but thats about it!  Amazing it looks to be about adult sized, eh?  Little cutie was lucky!   Definitley understand your concern with neighbors, etc.  Never know what some people might do to a rare creature like that.

Hope everyone had a good Turkey Day!!!

We spent the day with family, ate way too much, and waited for Black Friday........

I did some pretty good shopping, unfortunately, it wasn't for friends/family, it was for ME.  Cheesy

Look what I came home with. Huh?

(don't mind the mess in the background, I hadn't put away our shopping loot yet)

He's a fiesty sucker. He has whipped me with his tail every time I feed/water/clean his cage. Grin

I've wanted an iguana since the day I was born (exaggeration alert!) but never committed to one. Well, now I have. And I feel slightly guilty, because I'm not typically one to buy from pet stores...... Embarrassed  His name is Buddy or Iggy. I've not completely decided yet..... I thought about something more intimidating (butch? spike? bruno?) to fit his personality. I dunno. We'll see.

Little did I know, while shopping for BuddyIggyButchBrunoSpike, that I would soon be coming into three new kittens.

 Angry

Little feral kittens, in fact. Wear-gloves-when-you-touch-me-or-I'll-eat-your-skin kittens.

The snow is going to fly here in Ohio tonight, and these little guys were outside to fend for themselves. I couldn't leave 'em. I brought them home. Lets just say they're less than appreciative. Grin

Yes, they look sweet and innocent.....

But CLEARLY the girl in front is possessed by the devil.....

Closeup, girl calico

Closeup, boy tiger with white

Their oddball brother, dark tiger, twin to my Waldo, so we've named him Waldorf Smiley

Family Photo time..... notice the dysfunctional family appearance.
From left to right, the one kid who poses nicely, the middle kid who won't look at the camera, and the last kid who makes a face as soon as the picture is taken. Waldorf is saying "I love you!" in this picture (yeah. right.)

OMG, I am in love with Waldorf!  What nice markings!  Good luck with these kids...I've helped raise a few feral litters, it is very rewarding the first time they purr.  Cheesy

Y'know if I get three kittens and an iguana for thanksgiving, I'm scared to death to open my Christmas presents......  Huh?

 Cheesy

The iguana is staying, however the kittens are temporary. I will be finding them homes as soon as they're settled down. But of course, I'll enjoy them while they're here.

I've dealt with some ferals, actually, Waldo and Az were ferals, but they were a bit younger (approx 4-5 wks) when I brought them home. Waldo was sick so he wasn't fiesty, but Az had a good deal of attitude in her. She turned around pretty quickly, mostly because they still needed someone to feed them (they weren't eating from a bowl at all yet) so she may have hated me at first, but she knew I controlled the food. Grin Bird was a psycho crazy cat when I trapped her too. She did take a while to come around because she was easily 6 months old when I trapped her. You're right. Each milestone with a cat (or any animal) you have to work with is very rewarding......
