it's only 10 days til Christmas and then I'll quit buggin' y'all with the questions........

So.....what's your most favorite gift you've received for Christmas??

In the 70's, times were tough on a farm....crops weren't too good due to weather and the price for a  gallon of milk hadn't gone up in many years.  My parents told me Christmas would be small.  I remember my mom sewing wildly for gifts for family members.  I really wasn't expecting much and didn't care-just loved the season and being around all the cousins and Grandma and Grandpa staying with us.  I awoke Christmas morning to an electric typewriter-big stuff then and I'm sure my parents spent their last dime on it.  I have it til this day.    What about you guys??

Cookie Monster.  I believe I was 3.  One day I'll haul out the old album and scan the pic of me when I opened it, true genuine child awe/excitement.

A kitten, beautiful siamese who I named Mandy.  I wanted a kitten for some time, and I finally got her.  She was actually an adopted kitten to boot.   Kiss

I dont really like the idea of puppies and kittens for christmas, but I had to be at least fiftenn-sixteen at the time, and always an animal lover, so I knew what responsibility I was getting into being of a decent age and my parents knew that I'm sure.  She just passed a couple years ago, she stayed home with my mother when I went off to college and she just stayed permanently with my mom even when I got done and settled in because that had been her home all her life, so I didnt want to move her.
