We always celebrate Christmas on Christmas Day.
We don't have any family out here, and have always been away from family, so just celebrate with the kids, which means the big deal for them is the presents Christmas morning. We also have a big Christmas dinner Christmas day with us, plus any stragglers that may need a place to eat on Christmas. We do that on any holiday with friends that can't make it home for the holidays.
One tradition we do have at Christmas is the annual opening of ONE gift Christmas eve.... Of course no one can open the gift until they are ready go to to bed, so that is one way to get the kids to bed at a decent hour.

we let the kids open 1 gift christmas eve and i pick it and it`s always jammies  Grin christmas morning is spent opening the rest of the gifts and this year we`re cooking..we usually travel for christmas but this year we`re staying home. we have a couple people coming over for the dinner for misfit toys. i remember before we had kids we said we`d open 1 gift on the eve and come christmas morn there was nothing but wrapping paper under the tree!  Wink smudge is ALWAYS in the middle of the gift opening and wrapping paper...16 years straight!

Same here.  One gift Christmas eve, the rest christmas morning.  Also, dinner at my mothers christmas eve and I'll stop in and say hello to my father who is usually at his mothers and then usually at my grandmothers-fathers side (who is still hosting christmas even at her age) on Christmas day, then over to my mothers again.  Busy days having to go to both sides.

Dogs are always in tow, but I'm wondering what I'm going to do this year with that.  I'll be having to run home mid-day when I usually just am straight to the next destination.  Next year, things will be back to normal and I'll have a bigger gang for the holiday festivities.  Grin
