it's going to take more then one to take care of a house that big.
You can check into the ones that are installed directly into your central air unit...if you have central air of course.
other then that, just depends on what you want really...in our place...we have a big one..that still needs to be filled every 36 hours or so..and a small one in our bedroom that keeps getting shut off, because SOMEone can't sleep with the fan noise it makes. LOL! right now, their both in need of new filters because our water is so hard, it kills them off pretty quickly...especially when their not refilled for over a week! LOL!

i don`t mind refilling them...i mean it`ll be a PITA but it`s better healthwise and skinwise to have the moisture and i`ll just have to suck it up and  get used to it. i would prefer a small quiet one  in our bedroom and i was thinking of a big one downstairs. think that would be enough? vegasr water is very hard also `cept at this house we did get a water softener, think that`ll help filter wise? how often do you have to change them? i was using just a plain old vicks humidifier for awhile but that got old real fast...it`s so darn small!!

We have one attatched to our furnace.  It has a dial to turn the humidity up or down.  You can make rain with it if you want.  Our home is 2000 sq. ft and it works plenty well.

You're in vegas. You think the humidity is high when it hit's 30%  Grin

some of them have gauges on them to tell you when your filter isn't working well...others, you just have to go by the looks of it, some filters have color changing bands on them that let you know when they need to be changed. If you want a small quite one in your bedroom...maybe get one of the newer Ultrasonic cool mist vaporizers, but make sure you use filtered water to keep it working well..they don't use the same kind of filters as normal humidifiers...they produce a fine fog type mist...ussually available even at walmart, about 30 bucks.
If your going to buy a big one for your downstairs, they have some that are pretty nice, look like a piece of furniture..wood grain and everything, their about 100 bucks or so, ussually hold about 8+ gallons and last about a day and a half..the filters cost about 12 bucks...probably have to change it every couple of months.
