weather in the 60;s in Jan. is a treat, but the rain and the mud today are making the dogs a real mess.  I just had them bathed and smelling good,  Don't suppose mid 60;s and sunny would be pushing my luck?Huh?

You know we are going to pay for this record warmth.

Jan 24th 1967  (Most of you can't remember that far back) temp in Chicago hit 65 ( a record for that date)
Jan 25th 1967 strong rain storm with 45 MPH gusts
Jan 26th-27 The blizzard of '67 23 inches of snow and high winds(35 MPH) brought the city to a halt. cars were abandonded everywhere. I remember walking miles,as that was the only way you could get around, looking for bread and milk as the store quickly ran out. Snow drifts covered the garage door of our house. Side streets were not cleared until Feb. As you shoveled the wind buried your hard work.

Oh my heavens, let's hope there's no repeat of that! We're hoping for good weather here through the rest of january or so. The girls and I have a journey ahead of us come month's end. We can't have any record snow falls going on!

Those pictures make it hard for me to breath. To think of being snowed in like that........ugh. Huh?

I have enjoyed these past few warm days, lets hope it doesn't turn out like '67.

Yikes
Now that is crazy talk!
And I thought it was crazy enough that there were tornadoes that touched down in southern Wisconsin yesterday... in January?!
I believe they said it was near Illinois... real southern Wisconsin! LOL
Now that is odd...

So weird... but anyone notice the winds last night/today?   It was ridiculous, blew over my amish birdhouse outside that stands on its own, and its pretty darn sturdy.  Eerily similar to what joe posted!!  No rain yet, and I hope no snow!   Huh?

I'm about 2hours north of were the tornado's hit in Wis. We got some heavy storms but
the tornado's stayed south.

The worst part is it really went through a newer residential area, leveled houses. And
it hit about 3:30pm so most people where at work so at 5pm when kids and families
where trying to get home, it was dark and they would not let them in. How aweful.

The power lines where down everywhere and it was so dark they say you could
not see anything and it was so dangerous. No one was killed or seriously hurt but of course
pets where lost and that really gets at my heart. I'd go crazy if it had been my house.

Now what so sad is its snowed since then and its fricken cold again so its really difficult to
clean up the mess. I feel so bad for those people some of their houses have been leveled.
