Some Jury duty

Had to be there by 8:30
It was one of the samller couthouses in the county.
There were 2 cases that had requested juries but after we arrived and were forced to sit through Oprah and The View (someone please poke my eyes out and puncture my eardrums) we were handed our checks for $17.20 and told we could leave @ 11:30

It's $17.20 a day no matter how many hours you are there

When my husband had to do jury duty, he was on for three days.

The parking lot is two blocks from the courthouse.
They get a half hour "lunch".
They were not allowed to smoke on the courthouse "property" which was essentially the entire block.
They were paid by the day, and when he got his check, they shorted him an entire day. Roll Eyes Huh?
One of the jurors was actually EXCUSED because she had breast augmentation and said it made her uncomfortable, Huh? yet the woman working a full time job that had to be home by three to pick up her 3 preschool/kindergarten aged kids had to stay. Shocked

But the worst part was, I told hubby he had to dress up for jury duty. BOY was he pissed when he was the only one that showed up in dress pants, button up and a tie, and all the other jurors were in jeans and t-shirts. Cheesy

Ours is one day or one trial
If your are assigned to a trial you are there for as long as the trial lasts otherwise only there the one day.
Yes people wear all manner of clothes. I have never been on a trial in all the times i've been called.
Was impaneled once but after the questions I was dismissed.
