they`re moving my sister to hospice.
she has been experiencing a lot of pain in her abdomen, left leg and has had some pretty severe headaches. her dr has prescribed fentinol patches for maintenance and a morphine elixir for fast acting pain relief. She has been battling with her digestive system going from diarrhea to constipation. she had an episode where she came out of the bathroom, and my brother in law found her in the corner holding on to a chair armrest mumbling. she said she could not find the bed, it took him a couple of minutes to convince her where it was and had to help her in to it. This scared him a bit so I went to see her doctor again this morning and he said he felt it was time to bring in hospice. they are meeting with a supervisor tomorrow at 11am, to learn what they can do for her. my brother in law says she  is failing pretty quickly. She is not eating hardly anything, last 3 days she has had a only a yogurt. She does not want to eat because of the digestive problems, and she seems convinced she is not going to be with us very much longer. She has been losing weight and has been light headed and weaker each day.
We don't really know where she is at, as she has not had any scans since July, and does not want any. She feels tumors in her abdomen, which is swollen looking, and very sore. she has given up and just wants this all to end. her husband really feels she will continue to get weaker, andhis goal now is to make her as comfortable as possible.
just pray that she goes pretty much painfree...she`s had enough pain over the last 3 years battling this Sweet Lovin'ing disease

Patty, hospice was just wonderful with my aunt who just died last weekend.  She had all the dignity we could ask for and her pain was very limited.  They were wonderful at mixing fentanol patches with morphine elixir and ativan to relieve pain and relax her.  She passed very easily with no trauma.  I will pray the same for your sister.  I am sorry you all have had to go through this.  My aunt was 82, and that was difficult, let alone someone your sisters age.  May God's peace and comfort surround you all.

My heart is truly with you and your family patty. I understand this is one of life's greatest challenges. I personally have been in and out of the hospital for weeks for loved ones. But your sister is one of your dearest loved ones i know. We don't always realize how precious and short life is each day in the rat race of work etc but my heart and prayers are truly with you right now. I hope your heart as well as your families, are comforted. And i hope the hospice care helps to make things a bit easier.
