I`M SHOPPING FOR INDEPENDENT INSURANCE. ANY TIPS? WE DON`T GO TO THE DR ALOT CEPT FOR KIDS ILLNESSES WHICH ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN, ALLERGY SHOTS SOMETIMES...ROUTINE STUFF

I looked around online once and there were many different companies listed with many different price ranges.
It seemed like it could be a viable option, as long as none of you have any previous health conditions, and are non-smokers.
Try doing some research online and see what you can come up with.

only thing about that is isn`t that just if something happens? i need one that`ll cover normal family stuff. i`ve been on einsurance and it seems like a great site. i just don`t want to screw it up and be like...what da ya mean tyler`s not covered for strep?

I believe the catastrophic ones are to ensure you don't go bankrupt if there is a major accident or surgery needed. I'm not sure if they cover doctor visits at all.
Definitely read through ALL the details of the plans you are looking at.
I know when I was comparing there were a LOT of little details to each.
Health insurance these days has gotten ridiculous, so I looked around a few years ago to see if there were cheaper options than the plan I have through work. Unfortunately, it didn't look like it.. and it gets higher and higher each year too!
But you hear this everywhere, so we are suffering together.
Let me know if you find anything spectacular out there.

Actually Costco now sells health insurance. I beleive in Nevada it would be through Summerlin Insurance

LOL...our gvrnmnt has messed up enough when put into their hands we don`t need insurance to go that way...it`s bad enough already!!
