Anyone read the article that Dachshunds are found to be the most aggressive breed of dog? LOL well the doxie board I am on is abuzz about it, some agreeing, some swearing up and down that its not true! (I have seen both the sweetest and the meanest,like with most breeds, and know that they can be very snappy so I am completely neutral for the most part on the subject) anyhow this poem was inspired by the "controversy" and I thought it was funny. Its actually very fitting!!!
Dachshund Aggression
T'was two in the morning
& all through the house
Not a creature was stirring
Not even a mouse.
The dachshunds were downstairs all snoring
Curled up or stretched out, asleep in each crate
Dreaming of what future adventures might wait
& of breakfast to eat the first light of morning
When suddenly there arose such a clatter
That Joel ran down to see to the matter
The dachshunds barked warning
An intruder is here!
He's dark & he's hairy
& as big as a bear!
Uncrated they snarled,
Uncrated they growled
& gave chase to this being
For their home had been fouled.
On Summer, on Charlie,
Go little Cliffie,
On Music & Mischief
& youngster, Miss Sparkle!
Swift & courageous, with teeth bared & grinning
Angry, valiant, they'd sure win this inning.
Our dachshunds are fast.
Our dachshunds are loud
Sleepy Joel was standing there ever so proud.
Our home is defended.
It is being preserved.
By aggressive dachshunds
Haven't you heard?
Waking up fully, Joel finally commanded
"Down, stay. This noise shall be ended."
The obedient dogs instantly listened.
They waited for action, their bared teeth still glistened.
Joel raised his foot & swung it down flat
& the intruder was squashed.
The spider went splat.

LOL you all know Zoey has gotten stung from attacking insects and I have saved Pooh a least twice in the last month from an attack he'd sorely regret. (he has an infatuation with bumble bees and butterflies) Just thought I'd share!
