I know, another one of my events....

but I love sharing the details!

This sunday Aug 24th, we're going to animal friends Bark in the Park (same big Pittsburgh Humane Society that does the Mutt Strut!) and it's their biggest event of the year, and I am also the assistant organizer of the Pittsburgh Toy Dog meetup group, so I'm hoping everything runs smoothly with meeting up with the group and getting everyone together.
It was really difficult to find everybody and get together at Mutt Strut because there were so many people and dogs that came out (even though it was such a dreary day!) and the sun is forecasted to be shining and temps in high 70s, mid 80s here on Sunday, so there should be even more.
All of the same attendees in my gang will be going, minus my niece who has just got her first job and will be working! (bummer)  We were going to take Katy along this time, but with her not going, we wont be able to as I am already walking my gang, my nephew will probably take Simba for me since she is the easiest to walk and most obedient, good friends Chris and Jenna and their dogs (Westie and Lab mix)...
The Skyhoundz frisbee disc championships will be there and going on right after the walk, so that should be fun!
Things going on:

Your Stay-cation Itinerary

WDVE’s comedian extraordinaire Jimmy Krenn will head up the pledge walk and beach party. Walk in honor or in memory of a beloved pet on the 1.5-mile humane hike and head back for tons of fun:

Stroll with your favorite canine companion on the humane hike.

Splash through the Blue Lagoon, featuring canine-friendly wading pools and water games

Pamper your pooch at our Island Spa, featuring free nail trims, canine Reiki massage demonstrations, and Dr. Kneven and his brand new book The Holistic Health Guide: Natural Care for the Whole Dog

Shake your shorts at a concert by local rock band Morningside.

Run through the agility course.

Hit the boardwalk to visit pet-friendly vendors.

Have fun in the sun with interactive games for pets and children.

Create a souvenir with a paw painting.

Meet the beach babes: bikini-clad canines in our Meet Your Match booth.

Say cheese in a vacation photo.

Stay for lunch and enjoy a variety of tasty treats!

Humans are encouraged to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt!

Special This Year

Does your gog have what it takes to be Pittsburgh’s Top Dog?

Bring your pooch with his or her best trick and audition for our judges.  It needs to be awesome, because the winner will bask in the spotlight in our 2009 telethon. Register at the event!

I'll be snapping photos! But I'll try not to post as many this time.  Grin

Carol you should consider coming to the Annual big doxie meet next summer if you're feeling well enough by then... we could get the gang together! Heck, you could bring levi and sonny along too. (and anyone else here on the boards who wants to join in??)  I wonder what ol sonnys reaction would be to a herd of tucker look alikes... he'd be like "Mom, you DIDNT....did you? were not taking them home!"  LMBO!  He'd have four of them crawling all over him, trust me Zoey wouldnt hold back.  Anything to be the center of attention.

Hey Louisa, that sounds like great fun.  I just might do that; although, I think Sonny & Levi would have a difficult time passing as weiner dogs.  lol!!!  Do u think Tucker could come if he's got a weiner body...think they'd notice that he has a chiuaua head???  If you get a chance, post a recent pic. of him so these guys can see his chi head and daschie body....he's a goofball  Roll Eyes
