Hello all

OK another question...I would like to create a DVD to show at my boyfriends parents 50th Wedding Anniversary.  We have a couple hundred pictures, most of them are scanned and on a CD right now.  I would like to make them into a slideshow that fades in and out (very similar to a slideshow on Rockyou.com) that is also set to music and has some captions on the photos.  Anyone know of software I can buy or download to do this?   Its important that it is a DVD format and also that its not too hard to do, I dont have a ton of experience with this, and I really want to avoid any mishaps when there will be a ton of people at this party.  (nerves.... LOL)

I was looking at Microsoft Photostory 3??  I dont know though if I can download this free or I have to go to the store and buy it.... I'm always confused on this because the microsoft office website has a download, but is this the full version? I dont know.

Also... how about this one:  http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/mydvd/premier/overview.html?AID=10378746&PID=1906652     Its a lot of money, but I feel nervous about depending on a "free download".   I'm not sure here.

Here's a free one I found http://www.nchsoftware.com/slideshow/index.html   But I wonder what the glitches are? can it be burned to a DVD?

 Huh? Huh?

How much time do you have before the party?
DVD burning can be a frustrating process if it doesn't go smoothly.
I'd ask around and see if you have any friends that have done it before.
Since you have the pictures all on disk, it may not cost that much to have it done either.
Or, if they are simple programs, and you have a lot of time on your hands, give it a shot and see what you can do yourself.

I went out and purchased Roxio MyDVD Video Lab 10 and I am getting error messages saying "an unhandled win32 exception occured" and something about debugging when I go to create a slideshow and I paid $50 for the software.  I have no idea what's wrong and Staples is not accepting returns on software that is opened.  Very frustrated.. grrr.  It's supposed to be great software for this, I feel like just going and purchasing the other software that was $39.99 and trying to sell this on ebay.  I have messed around with it all night and can't get the slideshow part to start up.   Angry Shocked

Ummm Joe, you want to talk her through debugging a win32 exception error?Huh??
Or perhaps you can uninstall the program and it will stop having the conflict.
Though if you are having this problem with this program, you may with another.
How old is the computer you are trying to use to do this video editing?
I assume it's not that old if it has a dvd burner on it.

Are you running Windows XP or Vista?

I cannot find anything specifically about MyDVD and the unhandled win32 exception.
You might post a question here
