Her name is BiAnca and she is a 4 year old German Shepherd.
She is a really nice dog, she's had obedience training, good pedigree, hips/elbows certified, is very laid back, and likes cats and other dogs. Her owners bought her originally as a breeding dog and were going to do Schutzhund and obedience titles before breeding but she did not have the drive for Schutzhund (fine with me!) and then she developed pyometra so had to be spayed. Her parents are Schutzhund titled-- SchH2 and SchH3 and her grandparents etc are titled as well.
She knows commands in German so I am trying to remember to use the right words, although she's a little rusty with her obedience so we're going to work on that.
I was at first looking into getting a puppy but I decided an adult would be better right now because I have been used to having older, trained dogs in the house so it would be less of a big adjustment and less stressful, plus I think it is better for me to wait until I have more free time for a puppy. I still want to get a puppy in the future though.
I am probably going to change her name if I can think of one I like.

Congratulations, Lizzie.  She's a pretty girl, and I do like the name Bianca.  May you both have great fun together.

Hey I got some newer photos of Bianca I wanted to share... I still might change her name but I haven't decide yet!

I took Bianca out geocaching last month to a sculpture park, most of these photos are from there...

This sculpture is kinda neat because it is on a pivot and the piece in the center swings back and forth in the wind. When that happens it makes a loud eerie noise. You can also push it to make an even louder noise. I'd like to get audio of it sometime! Luckily it was not windy that day because Bianca might have not liked the weird noises...

I really don't know but am curious, how hard is it on a dog or confusing to learn a new name? Do they just learn it like a command? My dogs are so sensitive to their names, much more than any commands.. I'm not sure how this works with adult older dogs

It looks like she's fitting in just fine!
Love the pics.
I don't know about the name change thing either.
We never did that with an older dog so I wouldn't know.

Almost all of my dogs and foster dogs have been rescues and a lot of those were strays so we didn't know their previous names, or the ones where we did we mostly changed their names (or they didn't respond to their supposed name). All the dogs learned their new names very quickly and had no problem adjusting. I think it took about a week for them to learn a new name. They were all over 1 year old, the oldest dog I've rescued was 6 or so.
