Uh oh...now he has a name!   Tongue

I can't say a thing about you bringing home a pidgeon.  I am getting damn ducks for the dogs.  They won't live here, at a friends house, but how spoiled does a dog have to be that we go and spend $25/duck on stupid runner ducks...you won't meet a dumber bird.  Just so they can chase them around.

I'm sure they'll all have names within a month.   Roll Eyes

Ok, so originally from the city, I had the same opinion..... but when I was in junior high school, we lived in a roof top apartment, and just below my bedroom, some guy had pigeon coops where he kept show pigeons. If I looked just right, I could see them. He had all different kinds and colors. Some had the fancy tails, and some had the really pretty colors. I was fascinated by them! So I really don't mind them much after all...

Yes, seagulls are evil! I have been divebombed way too many times by a flock of seagulsl trying to get the pink popcorn we bought, trying to feed it to the ducks in Golden Gate Park...
Sheesh....

My dad used to raise show pigeons, too!  I even used to take some to the fair for 4H.  Right now he just has a few "Nuns" (which are actually quite cool looking...they do actually look like nuns dressed in their habits..cept reverse if I am thinking right), but he used to have fantails, tipplers, tumblers, rollers, homers and probably more.  I used to spend a lot of time out there in his pigeon coop...so I think  Larry is gorgeous Smiley and he looks like a homer to me.  I wonder if Larry realizes how lucky he was to be picked the bird that worked with our dear soft hearted Prajna??

I work at a bookstore over the xmas season and we had the COOLEST book on pidgeons this year or last year.  It had all kinds of fancy pidgeons in there, types I never knew existed!
