Well yes, spring has come!! And it has got me thinking about summertime and one of my favorite past-times on a sunny afternoon...playing some softball/baseball.  Mmmm nothing beats cook-outs on the grill and a good baseball game,eh?  Well I have a question...do any of you play in any recreational leagues?  (Even basketball, tennis...other sports)  I am very interested in joining perhaps a Womens league here...but I haven't played with anyone on a team before, and honestly, I can't find one in my area!  I was going to call the local YMCA tomorrow and ask, but anywhere else you'd go about looking?   There's a few men's leagues here and there... my sig. other actually plays in one over the summer for men, and I LOVE going to games.  I'm trying to get more into sports for his sake - and my sanity, as we watch them all the time, I swear ESPN never leaves his TV screen.   He has it in  his head that I am a typical "woman" and don't know much about sports!  Well I love football and baseball as a spectator, but I'd love to join a league and show him I can play just as well.  Wink  -- All in good nature, I think I'd enjoy it a lot to boot!  Anyone have any suggestions on finding one/joining.... or something I can do sports-related around the community?   One player's girlfriend already takes stats for the team, I'd like to do it but   *ahh Embarrassed*   I dont know how! Yikes, any idea there where to LEARN?

 Grin  Thanks guys!

For playing I'd contact the dept of park and rec, they usually organize the sports in most of the towns I've been in... if you are in a decent sized town. The Y would know too.
For learning stats, try a book. Thats how I learn a lot!
