Best of luck, Carol!  When I had knee surgery (nothing related, I know)  I was supposed to be down for a least a month...

A month?  Wow, when I was doing my surgical rotation when had ppl with knee surgery out of bed adn standing the next day, hips were the next day I think.  Within a few days you better be walking (with a walker of course) or you'd have physio down your neck!

I was in an accident, I was on a snowmobile that collided with a large truck.  My knee cap was broken in several places along with a hip injury.  Oh they had me  moving somewhat within a few days, but I guess by "down" I meant recovery time in general until I could do something like go on vacation or to a concert.  Definitley wouldnt have attempted any of that for a goooood few weeks... or months.   Depends how fast you bounce back.  I think I did well.

Yowza, that wasn't just a knee surgery-sounds like you were lucky to have only escaped with those injuries if you collided with a truck.  That's scarey-I've been on snowmobiles my whole life, but I think they are just as dangerous as motorcycles when in an accident.
