you melted yet???  the humidity is pretty intense here and I HAD to make zucchini bread cuz I couldn't bear to see the zucchini go to waste (we've already had eggs & zucchini, stir fry & zucchini, steamed zucchini) so the house is pretty hot today-thought of you.  Thank God for swimming pools and AC!!

It was just finally comfortable, and now it is on the rise again.  Not horribly hot, but sneaking up there.  I suspect the end of august and into sept will be uncomfortably hot.  We need some rain though, only had about 20minutes in the last month or more.  Everything is brown brown and browner....and burning up.  I wouldn't mind a good solid week of rain...but that is unlikely in the summer nowadays.  Unfortunatly no swimming pool nor a/c here.  I would love to have a pool one day, that will be one of those things that I save up for forever, and am determined to get it one day!

mmm, send some of that zucchini up here!  I love stir fry with zucchini in it.

forgot to mention...Argus is comfortable.  He is naked, like really really ugly big-headed naked.  It started with dropping coat from the food company changing their formula, and then it just continued when we got this first big heat wave.  Its bad enough that you can see all his "bits"....I hate seeing boy dog bits, esp on a coated breed.  His coat looks terrible, just the top coat left so it looks all wirey and gross.  Yep, there went my dreams of specialling him this summer floating out the window with his hair.  He has been bathed twice in the last couple weeks to blow out the coat, and it is still coming out, the rubber brush pulls some out, the rest apparently wants to hang out in the house because it doesn't come out till he comes inside.  Its embarrassing to even take him to agility trials hes so ugly right now.  Good thing Jurny's cute.

Ya know... there's a lot of scientific evidence of global warming out there.
Sav and I went and saw "An Inconvenient Truth" over the weekend and were shocked and amazed.
It's very sad... and very scary at the same time.
It actually showed that growing cycles are sped up, animals can end up shedding quicker due to the earlier heat cycles too I'm sure.
I have apples that are ready now, quite early for sure!

yea, i heard a couple speakers also...it is scary!! i`ve thought of what i can do environmentally...one thing is those light bulbs that last a long time but are like 10 bucks per bulb...another is i`m seriously thinking of getting a hybrid car...i figure the little daily things ya know?

Here's the website the movie posted for more information.

If you click on the link to the right to take action, there is a page where you can see what you can do... and they list several things you can do to reduce you contribution to global warming.
We thought of the hybrid cars, but we drive long distances, so they would not be a good choice for us... much better for people that do a lot of city driving.

Is the "Smart Car" the same as the hybrid car idea?    (Not too auto-savvy)     I found this Chrysler version of the Smart Car.... same thing or different?

I thought there was something like a Ford Focus that is a hybrid... toyota makes one too?   I am wondering what they look like.

Louisa, Not sure, but it looks like it may be along those lines.
I had a special day of training on the hybrid cars with my EMT training (lots of issues for rescuers with them, so we get special training on them, due to their high voltage) but didn't see that one, though they are much more up on enviromental things overseas... so I would suspect that may be one they are using over there. It looks similar to one they are using over there. The one you are talking about that is similar to the Focus is/was in use in Europe, but was mostly good for city driving, as it could only hold a charge for short distances I believe.
They recently announced a high performance Tesla car that was really neat. Now to mass produce it is another story. Big oil is really against all these things of course... cuts into their profits!

awhile back. not so much for the fuel economy but more for the environmental aspects. the toyota camry hybrid is sweet and lexus makes one too. i've heard the best one is made by honda i think.

Yes, Honda has a nice one too. I was really surprised to learn there were somewhere around a dozen hybrids on the roads in the US right now. (This was as of this spring) I had no idea there were that many! I want to say Saturn even has their Vue that is coming out in a hybrid version which would be great for economy and the environment.
