Say, we saw something on the Food Network about this place that will ship you a "Taste of Chicago" package that sounded pretty good.

Whatcha think? It might satisfy Carols urge for that Chicago food! Some of it looks pretty darned good too!
I know that Eli's cheesecake is to die for... have never had the rest of it though....

Those are all quite good but those are silly prices. I can go ove th the Malnati's by my hpouse and pick up a frozen 9" cheese and sausage for like $10  A beef sandwich may be like $5 each. We used to go to Eli's and  by the seconds ( those that might be cracked)

Yeah well that includes the packaging and overnight shipping I believe... (I would hope!)
They showed them packing them up into coolers with dry ice on the show, and then into boxes to prep them to go out.
I know I've paid (dearly!) for my favorite italian dry salami to be shipped from San Francisco straight to my door, and it was quite costly! But I savored every bite!

Silly woman... you're talking to a dago here.
you want Volpi genoa (or genova) my all time favorite..
We can get it at many places but for the less fortunate you can get it from...

Yeah yeah, I know... I believe we have talked salami before...
My fave is Molinari, from San Fran... by some stroke of good fortune, they sell it at the cheese factory here in town (it goes well with cheese, and they sell some specialty salami's and sausages) so I can get it any time I want it now, without paying the extra shipping costs.
I'll look up the volpi genoa the next time I'm in an Italian deli (those times are few and far between though... consider me the less fortunate!)
