Well Panzer is 10 weeks old now and went to the vet for his puppy shots. He was good getting them but was so sick that night. Vet said it was from the shots but hes doing better now. Training is going good, he knows how to sit , shake, high five, wave high, come and if I say side he will walk around the back of me and sit on my left side. Bitting however is another story. He thinks Im a chew toy and wont stop but the worse part is when I try to walk he grabs my pant legs sometimes getting the skin too and wont let go. What is the best way to break him of this cuz I dont want it to be a bad habit he will have when hes older? Also what do you all think about him getting fixed at 4 months of age?  Below are a few pics of him and so you know he is getting big fast. When I took him to the vet at 8 weeks to get flea med he was 8 lbs and when he went the other day at 10 weeks for his shots he was 15 lbs so I think hes gonna be a big dog  Smiley

How cute!  What a sweetheart!    Where did you get him?   I had a GSD/Husky/and maybe Collie mix (female) that was 16 lbs when she was 10-11 wks old .  She should have been around 65 lbs full grown, altho I let her get a little heavier than that.  Best of luck with him.

Oh my goodness, how gorgeous is he??!    Beautiful coloring... he's going to be a pretty one!  And yep, does look like he's gonna be sizable.

Have you considered going to puppy classes?

And...does he have on the I.D tags you bake?    If it is, how did that turn out for you?  I considered buying one of those.

oh my gosh what a cutie!! and he`s got that mischievious puppy look! LOL as far as the pant thing the 1st thing i`d try is taking a squirt bottle filled with water with me. every time he bites squirt him and firmily say no. when he`s not biting praise the heck outta him so he`ll learn the association. he`s a smart one  Grin as far as neutering i`d go ahead and do it...but that`s just my humble opinion...

Louisa,
Yes we are thinking about puppy class even thought hes doing good but I need to get him to stop bitting so Im gonna try the spray bottle. Oh and yes the tag he has is the bake one. I had them for all 3 of my dogs and they all turned out great. They are the top seller at my friends pet store.

I would HIGHLY recommend puppy classes...not just for the training--actually mainly not for the training-- but for the socialization. It is SO important that young puppies are properly socialized, and classes help a lot with this. There is also a lot that you could/should do at home in terms of socialization. Here is an article which explains the critical socialization for puppies and what you should be doing during this time (it starts with birth so obviously you can skip down Smiley )

Oh yeah, he is gorgeous!

For the biting you can try Bitter Apple (or other spray) on your pant legs for the chewing while you walk, and what often works for biting/chewing hands is if he chews hard enough to hurt, to say "OUCH!" loudly, stand up, cross your arms and turn away/ignore the puppy (remove all attention) for a short time (under a minute.)
