Yeah well.... my Mom's creations were pretty ghastly... she went a bit too far when trying to stretch things. She did things such as saving the juice off the canned veggies, sticking it into a container in the freezer, and when that was full, that was the soup base... (this included beet juice, spinach juice, etc..) good grief, I never came home on soup night at our house! LOL
You can see why I turned on casseroles!
Before we moved out here we spent several years in Wyoming and spent most of our time out there eating wild game that they went hunting for... so it was a big change to come here and have store bought foods. In Wyoming the meats and produce were too expensive when you lived in the middle of no-where.

Sheesh Joe... tell me how you really feel!  Grin
No, I'll eat a pot pie every now and then.... I grew up po' folk... so that's what we had to eat!
Part of the hating casseroles comes from my Mom throwing anything and everything together and calling it a casserole... once we moved out here and she discovered what they were. That gave her permission to do it! Pasties I had once when I worked with a bunch of chefs and they made them. It was good, not my favorite... but decent eating.

WHAT, NOT EVER TATOR TOT-GREEN BEAN-HAMBURGER CASSEROLE??? And they still let you live in Wisconsin-that's like saying you don't like cheese!!! Shocked
