I'm back, so quit giving Patty a hard time.   Cool  Lovin' these new emoticons!!! Great job Sav-thanks!!
As for surgery, whew doggies, I had the winde taken right outta my sails....potassium dropped way low, hematocrit (blood count dropped), transfused me....allergic reaction to Morphine.....yikes am I ever glad to be home!!!!  Now I'm having big time muscle spasms that make me do this  Smiley but the good news is that the deep leg pain and foot numbness were gone instantly.  Vicodin is making me sick though so soooo sorry Joe, you're not gonna get the wigged out me Cool.  I would NOT have made a good child of the 60's that's for sure-just not a good druggie.
Everybody alright here?  Sauccie got those tests under control, Sav are you rested up from all the work you've put into our new board?  Patty, you ready for Spring break??  Dort, you around?  Update me folks, k??

Glad to hear you're on the road to recovery!  I hope you can find some sort of pain med to take, helps ya heal faster if you're not fighting the pain.   Grin

No tests right now, still in my 12 week practicum in public health.  then I got to a 6 week practicum in acute psych.  Then I hope that I find a job.  Actually I hope i find a job before then.  Our health authourity has a program in place that guarantees new grads full time work for one year.  However, they dont' guarantee that that work will be where you want it.  Wink  I've been in touch with teh coordinator and it looks like the mental health office is interested in a new grad, and hopefully one of the public health offices around here will be, and I know the psych unit I owrk on wants me, so hopefully I will have a few options.  I just wanted to be hired so I can get a mortgage and buy house.  There's one listed right now that is 3900sqft which is far bigger than i need, but has a nice walkout basement, huge deck up top, mostly laminate (which I really dislike, but its better than carpet), huge kitchen adn the best part...on 2.56 acres!  A mere $275,000.  Its still a bit above my price range, but its been on the market for a bit, so hopefully they will drop the price, then I can talk them down to what I can afford.  Its not horrifically over my limit, so its possible.  Not in the town I want either, but if I want to stay around here I won't get acreage.  I'd rather have acreage than my nice little town.

Write my RN exam on June 6th.  Am totally stressed and convinced that I'm not goign to pass.  That will either get worse or better as time goes by.

My Rainy cat is basically palliative now.  He ist he one that was dx as diabetic around xmas.  He's been doing really well, put on 3 lbs and looks great weight-wise, but he started breathing really gurgley, took him in and he had fluid in his trachea and probably around his lungs, decreased a/e to his lungs as well.  We put him on a week of antibiotics with hopes that it was an infection (I didn't do the chest xray, I have to draw a line on how much I am oging to spend on an already sick cat, plus it won't tell me anythign as far as finding something treatable), and he got better for a couple days, but is now going downhill.  Energy level is way down, breathing is really conjested, but he's still breathing without severe resp distress nor does he seem distressed about his lack of air flow.  He's still eating which is good, but I think this week or next will be the limit for him.  We'll keep him comfortable and then take him in when he goes into resp distress, that's about all we can do for now.  I have been somewhat prepared for this for awhile because I knew he was sick when he was dx with the diabetes, and then knew that he wouldn't be with us for long with the diabetes, though this is a little sooner than expected.

Dogs are good, Jurny stopped barfing on the bed in teh middle of the night (only did it twice, but what a way to wake up) which is nice, Argus had a bath today so he wont' smell as awful when he curls up to me in the middle of the night.

My day off is nearly over, that is sad, to work tomorrow at the book store, then back to work at public health.

So glad to see you Carol! I was wondering when you would make it back on here to update us on how it went. Hopefully they find some pain meds you can take so you don't have to tough it out on your own... ouch! Or at the very least maybe some muscle relaxants for those spasms... yikes!
Things are going well out here. I am waiting on my physiology mid-term to arrive so I can take it.. yuck, plus recertifying in servsafe this week.
We have been buried in snow over the past week, but its beautiful out here, so we really can't complain!
The animals are all good and everyone is doing just fine in our neck of the woods.

Welcome back Carol.  It sounds like it wasn't pleasant at all.  Hope you are on the mend now with painkillers that do the trick.

Same old same old here.  Lots of snow this winter, but admittedly pretty.  It's wonderful on my trails out back.  We've actually done some snowshoeing this winter.  But it really sucks on the driveway.  I've spent an awful lot of time shoveling and snowblowing which is taking a toll on my wrist.  The break from last October has healed nicely, but apparently an injury can "change the architecture" of the carpal tunnel, so that problem is back with a vengeance.  I'm scheduled for surgery April 2.

My son has finally found an apartment with his gf, so it is calmer around here, but I really miss Sam, as do the girls.  Abby has just turned 9 and Hayley will be 8 next month.  Now that Sam isn't here they are wrestling more between themselves.

Just wating for spring here..... Roll Eyes

See there, someone finally saw it..
Sav was telling me about some of the new administrative functions of the board and one of them is to substitute a word or phrase for a bad word or phrase... so if someone were to swear, it will automatically change it to say something else, and you can customize the naughty words list and alternate phrases with anything.
We just wanted to test it out.  Grin
So guess what happens if you type in j-o-e- without the - signs...
Now you get why I had to say that in the other thread?
I'll change it back and the link will work for the pics now. I hadn't even thought about him using his name in his url for his pictures.
And to think, he hasn't said a word about it!

Alright, it's probably just one too many valium here.....but what the heck is so bad about the word j-o-e.......aside from the fact that the computer must ultimately realize what I've been saying all along (he's a real pain in the patoot  Evil). Other than that what's with the word that I'm not getting??

Nutthin bad Carol, was just testing the censors and thought it would be funny to have it substitute "Italian Stallion" for joe.
Was not meant as anything bad at all in fact!
I figured with him being a tech guy, he'd get the joke right away, but he must not have noticed.
We can actually change any word to be a bad word.. I can change Carol and substitute it with "Vicodin Woman", or switch patty with "AeroBabe", the list goes on.  Grin

I noticed it, but thought I was going nutty and that was just the original name of the post and I just forgot.   Huh?

Cheesy  it`s not the word j-o-e that`s bad meathead...it`s just that they were trying out the new no cuss function and they used him as the gunea (sp) pig.
get it?? now ship that valium to someone who can handle it!!   Smiley
